The Energon 378 is classified as a large lithium ion battery and must be shipped as fully regulated class 9 hazardous goods. The special packaging and shipping paperwork results in an extra $30 in shipping cost, which is included in the battery cost. If you come to Ashland, Oregon to pick up your pack, this $40 is refunded.
